How to file a motor insurance claim by yourself
Intimate your claim. Call the toll-free number or use the claim option on your insurer’s website this is where it begins. Describe accident details like Date, time, driver details, place of accident and cause of accident
Fill the claim form. Gather your RC, driving license, repair estimate, and NEFT details. Once ready, submit them to the surveyor assigned to your case or simply upload them through your insurer’s online portal. This step ensures your claim is formally registered
Let the survey happen. Once your claim and documents are submitted, the insurer will appoint a surveyor to inspect the vehicle. Keep your car available for assessment and share any details they ask for. This step confirms the damage officially
Get your car repaired and receive your settlement. Once the survey is complete and approved, you can take your vehicle to the workshop for repairs. Depending on your insurer, the bill may be settled directly with the garage (cashless) or reimbursed to your bank account (NEFT).
